The Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility (OIEA) monitors and reports on the University’s faculty search process to ensure compliance with various Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (AA/EEO) rules and regulations.
OIEA Faculty Search Process:
Once the school or department has received approval to begin the search process, an advertisement must be placed in a national field-specific journal. Wording of the advertisement must be approved both by the appropriate faculty or dean’s office and OIEA.
Pre-Offer
Upon selection of the proposed candidate(s) and prior to extending an offer: prepare the FSQ according to the steps outlined on the form, upload the FSQ, along with supporting documents to SharePoint or send to the appropriate faculty or dean’s office, and obtain approval from the appropriate faculty or dean’s office, OIEA, and the Provost’s Office.
Faculty Search Resources
The Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility (OIEA) offers this list of potential outreach sources as a service to support the faculty search process. In doing so, OIEA and Yale University do not make any representations about or assessments of the quality or reliability of these sources to reach and produce diverse applicant pools. Please note that several sources listed offer on-line job posting, while some maintain databases. Periodically, OIEA will update this list of potential outreach sources. The Office is interested in learning about your experience in placing ads or in reaching out to these sources to inform them about Yale employment opportunities. Please send your feedback via email to equity@yale.edu
